Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven innovation in online learning, one of which is through the use of gamification-based platforms such as Wordwall. Wordwall offers various interactive activities designed to enhance student engagement in the learning process. However, the extent to which Wordwall effectively increases student motivation and participation in online learning still needs further investigation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Wordwall in enhancing student engagement in online learning. The research employs a quantitative and qualitative approach, involving students from the Educational Technology Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data is collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews, then analyzed to assess the impact of Wordwall on student motivation, interaction, and comprehension. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights into the role of gamification in increasing student engagement, as well as offer recommendations for lecturers on how to integrate Wordwall effectively in online learning. The conclusions drawn from this research can contribute to the development of more innovative and effective digital learning strategies in higher education.
