Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the need for e-module development on relationship and function material based on contextual learning integrated with Islamic values. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out involving 30 class VIII students and 2 mathematics teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Arafah Bitung for the 2022–2023 academic year. Data collection techniques include field observations, interviews, and giving questionnaires to students. The results of the research show that the curriculum used in the learning process still uses the 2013 curriculum; the teaching materials used are modules and textbooks; the results of giving tests to students show that not all of them understand the concepts of the material given, such as relationship and function material; not all of the learning models used are contextually based and integrated with Islamic values; and the use of electronic media in learning is not yet massively used. Based on the results of literature studies and field studies, it shows that there is a need to develop teaching materials in the form of electronic modules on relationships and functions based on contextual learning integrated with Islamic values. This research can be used as a reference regarding the development of teaching materials in the form of electronic modules that are integrated with Islamic values.
