Dinamika Moderasi Beragama: Studi Kasus Transformatif Konflik dan Perdamaian di Papua
Keywords:
Conflict, moderation, religious, structuralism, toleranceAbstract
In social reality, violence often occurs under religious, political and other pretexts, including in the socio-cultural context. Moderate Islam in Indonesia has become a characteristic in building a harmonious and tolerant society, however there is still a misunderstanding of the concept of moderation in religious concepts. Cases of religious conflict, especially in Papua, reflect the complexity between religions and regional government policies. This conflict, like the cases in Tolikara and Manokwari, reflects tensions between Islamic and Christian communities. Factors such as local politics, identity and economics also influence conflict dynamics. Handling conflict requires an understanding of the social structure, culture and political interests within it. The role of identity politics and government intervention is key in reducing religious conflict in Papua. This research uses a library method, namely by collecting data by analyzing thoughts and studying a phenomenon. By using Lewis Coser's conflict paradigm and Levi Strauss's structuralism to examine a case in Papua, the religious conflict cannot be simplified as just an intolerant problem, but rather as the result of social dynamics.
