STRATEGI TRANSFORMASI BANK INDONESIA (BI) MENUJU BANK SENTRAL DIGITAL

The uncertainties that are caused by changes in the business environment, the Covid-19 pandemic, domestic socio-political conditions, geopolitical crises, as well as the global economy risks have made the banking industry continue to adapt and change their business models. The transformation of demands and lifestyles of the society have been encouraging Bank Indonesia (BI) as a monetary authority to be more agile and transform into a digital central bank. This study aims to analyze the current condition of BI's performance, BI's internal and external factors and also design BI strategy to manage and direct economic and financial digitalization in Indonesia. In order to answer those questions, this study employed a qualitative approach and four respondents were selected by purposive sampling. The analytical tools used are STEEP, IFA, IFE, SWOT and QSPM. The results show that BI is considered to have a strong internal position and has a very good response to the external environment. The resulting five strategies focus on strengthening five priorities, namely data management functions, governance, information systems, human resources and alignment support functions. Strategy implementation is supported by program development, monitoring framework, assessment, and rapid policy response in managing economic activities and the financial system.
