GERDUKMAS (Gerakan Edukasi Masyarakat): Pencegahan Stunting di Desa Sukarena, Kabupaten Serang, Banten

This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of residents of Sukarena Village, Ciomas District, Serang Regency about preventing stunting through education and socialization. The background of this activity is the high rate of stunting in Indonesia and the limited understanding of the community about the importance of providing adequate nutrition in the first 1,000 days of life. The activity was carried out through interactive lectures, discussions, and distribution of leaflets to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and local community leaders. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participant knowledge, with an average pre-test and post-test score increasing by 35%. Leaflets were distributed to all participants and most participants understood the information provided. The results of the evaluation using statistical tests showed that the activity succeeded in meeting the established indicators, thus making a positive contribution to efforts to reduce stunting in the area. However, there are still challenges in implementing the knowledge gained, especially due to economic factors and varying levels of community education. Overall, this activity made a positive contribution to increasing public awareness and knowledge regarding the importance of nutritional intake and child care in efforts to prevent stunting, in line with national targets and government priority programs.
