Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam Berbasis Nilai-Nilai Moderasi Beragama

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character and religious attitudes within a pluralistic society. The challenges of globalization, digitalization, and the increasing potential for exclusive and intolerant religious attitudes demand an Islamic education approach that emphasizes the values of religious moderation. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept and implementation of Islamic Religious Education based on religious moderation values through a literature review method. The research method employed is a literature study by analyzing relevant scholarly articles indexed in Google Scholar, particularly studies discussing curriculum design, instructional strategies, learning innovations, teachers’ roles, and school culture in fostering religious moderation. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education based on religious moderation values can effectively develop balanced, inclusive, and tolerant religious understanding when systematically integrated into the curriculum and learning process. The internalization of religious moderation values is not limited to instructional content but is also realized through dialogical, contextual, and reflective pedagogical approaches. Furthermore, technology-based learning innovations, habituation activities within the school environment, and teachers’ exemplary roles significantly contribute to strengthening the internalization of religious moderation among students across various educational levels. This study concludes that Islamic Religious Education grounded in religious moderation requires a holistic and sustainable approach to address diversity challenges and to nurture students who are religious, ethical, and possess strong national insight.
